This CD is a portrait of the french composer Frédérick Martin, (1958-2016).
A prolific and eclectic composer, and also a guitarist he was essentially self-taught, though inspired by many styles of music, including black-metal music. He worked a lot with the Trio Polycordes for whom he wrote three trios over a period of 12 years.
The Trio Polycordes, (Florentino Calvo, mandolin, Jean-Marc Zvellenreuter, guitar and Sandrine Chatron harp) is a unique formation of plucked strings celebrating 20 years of collaboration (with Isabelle Daups , harpist from 1997 to 2008) during which time they have performed more than 50 new works especially written for them.
