Bio
A true masterpiece paying tribute to Charlie Chaplin.
This project grew out of a long-standing friendship between the Chaplin and Rosenberg families, driven in particular by Michael Chaplin, Charlie Chaplin’s eldest son and a fan of Stochelo Rosenberg.
The making of Chaplin’s *Spirit of the Tramp*, a documentary exploring Chaplin’s Romani roots, led to this musical project centred on his music, notably featuring a previously unreleased track, *Gypsy*, which has never been used in any film.
The arrangements for two acoustic guitars and double bass, and the compositions crafted by Stochelo and his brother Mozes, give the project its unique character, enhanced by superb guitar writing—both modern and deeply rooted—and by the almost telepathic dialogue between two improvisers, brothers in music and blood. Already premiered in the summer of 2025 in France and across Europe (Nice Jazz Fest, Jazz in Marciac, Santander Jazz Festival...), this music appeals to both aficionados and the general public.
