State of Grace

Following the release on the label Mole Listening Pearls of Zorg's first album "La Vie Privee de Zorg / Zorg's Private Life" , a classic downtempo made in France (Cafe Costes famous tracklist / compilation). Zorg makes his comeback,the eternal search for beauty through harmony and rythm. It's on Alix Hafner's proposals, a photographer, about making an audio creation for one of her exhibitions that Zorg decides to go back to the studio that he never really left. "La vie privee de Zorg" was a manifest claiming a quest of uncluttered beauty. With "State of Grace", grieving is made of this ethereal beauty. As this beauty becomes more complex, it becomes rough, sometimes violent (strictly romantic or slow motion) but is still leaving a prominent space to harmony, the source of an awakening imaginary, the hidden aim is to call to escape by creating images from sounds. By mixing samples and different sampling technique of opposites musical ambiences & universes, both in terms of genres and eras, from funk to jazz to romantic music of the late ninteenth century, taking from each of them an element of rythm or harmony that are not necessarily apparent at first glance, Zorg sculpts an original work that is fully independant from the extracts used. Leaving the shackles of the "all electronic", he dare putting himself for the first time at the synths to lead us in cinematic dreams and leaves the listener in a "State of Grace"...
